Wendy & ash

I have only been rainbowing for two seasons & yes it has changed my life. The first camp I came to was in a nylon petal, then I progressed to a canvas but now - I own my very own truck! There’s no stopping me now!
All winter the only thing that I can think about is- I can’t wait till May & how much annual leave do I have left & can I work add ional hours to accumulate time owing to enable me to have the whole of the summer off.
I have learnt many skills whilst being with the community, how to cook for 300+, how to put up a bender, light a fire without paper or firelighters, reiki, meditation, how to chill out & to share my skills & my love. To name a few!
It always amazes me how diverse the skills & knowledge of people are and how willing they are to share, for no other reason than, because they can.
No-one judges or makes negative comments & I always feel safe when I am in the community, but most of all I can "just be".
my teenage son comes to Rainbow with me, and all winter on a weekly basis asks "when is the next camp" & "why cant we go now" he has brought his "trendy" mates on many occasions & after the initial shock of naked people, "hippies," wellies, & morning gatherings, they always want to come back for more. They live in benders built by them selves, contribute to the garden & help with the tat. Learn how not to judge. They even give out hugs!!!
this summer we turned up early to help with the creation of the magic village, Ash learnt how to put up geodomes, the big marquee, wood runs & where the container was, he helped with getting things done, this was good for him as he was accepted for being himself, where in his "school education" life he always had to do more & was it still never enough. he has built on his social skills ( & to me this stands  far above than any government statistics) which in turn will set him up of life & is now more aware of the environment, which he loves, he learnt how to fire twirl & ran group juggling workshops, his confidence has bloomed, this is what rainbow has done for him. Why didn’t we come years ago???
if I want to winge about something & do nothing then I am part of the cause .so I am now involved in the winter working group because I believe that I can contribute, we all have skills & knowledge that "we" as in rainbow circle can make things happen.
I could go on for pages but I think this is enough,
love, peace & fluffy stuff.
